JOY & The Shooting Stars
JOY & The Shooting Stars is an original educational musical that becomes a living classroom — both on and off the stage.
On stage, audiences are drawn into an interactive dream world where music and story come together to teach The 5 Guiding Lights to SHINE! — the foundation of the social-emotional learning curriculum in Shooting Star School. Parents and kids leave with tools and a new language of love to help them SHINE! together.
Audience members are invited to join the experience as “Little Stars,” using light-up pens to shine from their seats, extending the sense of learning and celebration to the wider community.

Off stage, the characters, songs, and themes from the musical form the foundation of the Shooting Star School curriculum.
While the musical is a performance experience, Shooting Star School is designed as a participatory learning program, giving children ongoing opportunities to practice and embody the ideas explored in the story.
Creative Flexibility
JOY & The Shooting Stars can be experienced as a standalone theatrical production, a songbook-based musical experience for choirs and music classes, or as an integrated part of Shooting Star School.
The musical is available in multiple lengths and formats — including full script and narrated versions — allowing schools and community organizations to choose the model that best fits their needs, resources, and capacities.
